The wallet is read, never signed. kiln asks the chain what you hold and picks a rung from the answer. It has no keys, sends no transactions and cannot move anything you own. Passing a wallet you do not control gets you that wallet's rung and nothing else — there is nothing to steal.

It returns a url, not bytes. Images live under /i/<id>.png and stay for as long as the rung you were on when you made them. Selling later does not delete what you already made; the keep-until is stamped at the moment it is drawn.

There is no prompt-in, text-out endpoint. kiln draws and that is all it does. A free text endpoint is a free API key for somebody else's product, and it would empty the treasury by lunchtime.

The check runs here first, before the request leaves the building, so a refusal costs the treasury nothing and costs you nothing off your daily count. The provider then runs its own pass on top.

Text matching is not a safety system. It catches the obvious and the lazily disguised. Three other things carry the rest: everything made here lands in a public gallery, anything can be reported by anyone, and a pulled image takes its prompt down with it so the same line will not simply produce it again.

Prompts the filter finds strange are not refused. They are held, and a person reads them before anything is drawn.

the honest part

The kiln goes cold. There is a hard dollar ceiling on the day, and when volume is thin it is reached early. The number in the strip at the top is not a projection, it is how many pictures the budget will still pay for right now, and you can watch it fall.

The treasury is a wallet, not a contract. A person holds the keys and buys the credit. That is worth knowing before you decide what this is worth. The mint and the wallet are both linked below; the spend is published per day whether it flatters us or not.

Free tiers get swept. A cold picture lives three days. That is not a trick to make you buy, it is the only way ten free images a day for anyone who shows up stays possible. Download what you like.

The models are somebody else's and can change. kiln points at whichever image endpoint is cheapest and best this month, and when that changes the prices in the ladder change with it, in public, on this page.
